Those builds are pretty decent but somewhat out-dated. There are plenty of good builds, but when the words "Best build" and "fire nuker e/me" are used together, I tend to think "Echo". You'd obviously need most of your attributes to go into fire since thats what a nuker is. Energy storage is required if you do plan on using echo since other E-Management skills such as E. Attunement and/or Ether branches won't be available.
12 Fire
12 Energy
3 Whatever...
1. Firestorm
2. Meteor Shower
3. Fire Attunement
4. Archane Echo
-------
These are some of the fundamentals I think in making the best damaging AoE nuker (Dual Meteor showers). Anything else you can probably add depending on your style.
Edit: Charcoal Ann- Mybad, Arcane echo is the skill. I've been playing with energy denial rangers lately so Echo everywhere.

what Deathlord says but why use Echo? whats wrong with Arcane Echo? the spells he will echo are all spells so why use your elite spot for the echo?
you can do double echo nuker and use both echo and Arcane echo.
you can do triple echo nuker if you have a friend with the same build and use arcane mimicry to have 2 echo spells and arcane echo 4 meteor showers! boohya!

My PvE Fire Elementalist Build:
12+1+3 Fire Magic
12+1 Energy Storage
Fire Attunement
Elemental Attunement {E} (If you don't have this Elite, a Glyph of Lesser Energy may suffice for a while)
Fireball
Meteor
Firestorm
Meteor Shower
Glyph of Elemental Power
Res Signet
During fights, I cast my attunements as the fight starts. I then use Glyph of Elemental Power followed by Meteor Shower, immediatly followed by Firestorm on the same target. I then mop up survivors with Meteors and Fireballs. I very rarely cast Meteor Shower or Firestorm without the other, I've found it works better for concentrated damage that way
Armour-wise, Aeromancer may be the best bet for PvE, as in the late parts of the game, Mursaat Air Spikes are the main Elemental Damage.
For Runes - get a Superior (Major will do if you can't afford a Superior) Rune for your Magic Line (In this case, Fire), a Vigor rune as high as you can get (Major is probably the most economical) and a Minor Energy Storage.
Hope that helps

My favorite PvE nuker setup has become...
Fireball
Searing Heat
Firestorm
Meteor Shower
Glyph of Energy (elite)
Fire Attunement
The last 2 spots filled in with skills of choice, a res, ward, aura of res, spam fire skill (i like immolate for the bit of degen), etc.
Glyph of Energy --> Meteor Shower --> Firestorm --> Glyph of Energy --> Searing Heat (a fireball can get tossed in if glyph isn't quite ready yet the 2nd time)
With natural energy regen and fire attunement you're still sitting pretty close to max energy at this point and have suffered from no exhaustion. Now fire off your fireballs and other attack of choice until the battle is over or one of your nukes has recharged.
Happy hunting.

my usual nuker is
fireball
incendiary bonds
rodgorts invocation
aura of restoration
searing heat or fire storm
glyph of energy
fire attunment
and a rez..depends on what second profession i am, i usually sit back so i dont take any PBAoEs
16 fire magic 13 energy storage
and if you ask me use hydromancer..youll have fun with a ton of imps..and in the lsat few missions ppl use winter so thats just my 2 cents

my biggest problem with fire eles just doing standard nukes is that there really isnt much of a point in being able to do it 'over there' (im talking about aoes at a distance like firestorm, searing heat, etc) just get off your lazy ass, walk over there, and use a local aoe thing (flameburst is what i have in mind). they do about the same damage and if you time it right, it can hurt alot more than a meteor shower ish thing. (incendiary bonds + phoenix + flameburst ftw).
i like meteor shower, but only because of the interupts it gives. and after using it alot i just came to the conclusion its not that great really, you get like 1 knockdown at best.
which is why i kinda like earth eles running up close and doing an earthquake/AS combo, and obs flame is great for picking of someone that tries to run away (which reminds me, why would you want to run away after this kind of spike? i mean its not like i can do it again in some time instinct i guess)
i guess the real issue with that is the spammability/exhaustion. glyph of energy can help you on the exhaustion part but not the spammability part.
oh well. 21 second wards are great too

My biggest problem with posts like this is that your attitude comes across as, "if you don't do it my way you're doing something wrong". (playing the game the way you want ftw)

It may sound arrogant, but what he is saying holds some truth. It's good advice for people who want to try a fire ele in pvp.

Don't get me wrong, the suggestion itself is fine. Pbaoe can be very effective and can be more entertaining to use. My problem was with the message delivery, which imho, sucked terribly.
